<r>FIVE WAYS TO MAKE PAINTING QUICK AND EASY
1. Use the Right Tools
You, as a new painter, may think all rollers and brushes are equal and they do the same work, regardless of their price, and in an effort to save a few bucks, you may end up buying inferior and wrong tools.

Note that quality brushes are worth their weight in gold. They may cost extra, but they do because they last longer than the cheaper ones.

They don't shed brush hairs and are not likely to leave unsightly brush marks that are hard to cover.

Which means you will spend less time going back over your work trying to conceal those marks if you choose to buy quality brush.

2. Use Quality Paint and Primer
Just like painting tools, not all paint are equal. Some cheap paints are cheap for a reason, mainly because it takes several coats to get good coverage.

However, quality paints will cover your walls much better, which means you will waste less time slapping on additional coats of paint.

A good color-blocking primer can be a lifesaver if you are trying to cover dark or bright walls. For the best results, get a primer that has been tinted to match your new paint color.

If you are taking a wall from color to white, make use of a dark primer to conceal the old color better.

3. Choose a Similar Color
This is one of the reasons why painting projects take much longer than necessary.
Instead of trying to cover your wall with a different color of paint, go for a different hue or shade of the current wall color.

This will take less time and effort to cover because small mistakes and bleed-throughs will be less noticeable.

4. Prep Only the Important Areas
While you shouldn't skip the prep completely, you don't have to prep as much as you think.
Dirty or greasy walls may need a good degreaser and a little scrubbing, but there is no need to put as much effort on clean walls.

Instead, go over walls quickly and trim with a damp cloth to remove loose dirt, dust, and cobwebs. Also, drop cloths should be used to cover floors and large pieces of furniture.

5. Don't Clean Up During Breaks
Instead of spending a great deal of time washing brushes and rollers between breaks, all you have to do is wrap them tightly in plastic wrap.

If they are wrapped airtight, they won't dry out and will be ready for use when break time is over.</r>
