Israeli Websites Hacked With Jerusalem Is the Capital of Palestine Homepage
Multiple Israeli websites were hacked in a potential cyber attack Tuesday, their respective homepages replaced with a photo of last week's clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli forces at the Gaza border, under the headline "Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine." The image, set to background music, appeared on such sites with the notes "Th3Falcon Was Here," and "We will not forget our martyrs" written in Arabic.
Israeli municipality websites including that of cities Kfar Saba, Herzilya, Eilat and Akko were hacked. A Hadera hospital site was also hacked, in addition to the local council of Gan Yavne and Israel's national opera. The Israeli military shot a 25-year-old Palestinian man to death in the central Gaza Strip Tuesday, the coastal enclave's Health Ministry reported.
The man, who was identified as Ahmed Omar Arfa from the city of Deir al-Balah, was injured in his chest after being targeted by live fire near the border fence, just east of the refugee camp of Bureij. This latest incident brings the number of people killed in demonstrations taking place near the border fence to 17, according to Gaza's Health Ministry. In addition, more than 800 people have been injured since Friday by live fire.
